Lyndhurst man arrested for alleged sex assault on 11 year old girl

Joseph Erickson of LyndhurstLYNDHURST, N.J. - A Lyndhurst man was arrested last night on charges of aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, and endangering the welfare of a child.

Joseph Erickson, 43, was arrested as a result of an investigation conducted by members of the Lyndhurst Police Department, under the direction of Chief James O'Connor, together with the county sex crimes unit.

On Wednesday, March 24, law enforcement officers arrested Erickson after reportedly learning that he had engaged in inappropriate sexual conduct with an 11-year-old female acquaintance at a residence in Lyndhurst. The abuse was reported to police by the parent of the victim.

Bail for Joseph Erickson was set by Judge Liliana Silebi at $350,000.00 with no 10% option, no contact with the victim or the victim's family, and surrender passport, if any. Erickson was remanded to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned before Judge George Savino on March 30 at 9:30 a.m.
