Banks was arrested in 2011 as a reputed member of a Bergen County burglary syndicate known as the "James Bond Gang." He and three other men were accused of burglarizing two homes, in Sparta and Jefferson Township. He pleaded not guilty and is awaiting trial on charges connected to that case.
