At Englewood Cliffs tea, women in office urge others to follow their lead

Women in politics face challenges men don’t, but they should still try to bring their voices and attitudes to government, an Englewood Councilwoman Lynne Algrant and Assemblywoman Shavonda E. Sumter of Paterson told the 50 African-American women attending a tea at the Bicycle Club on Sunday. The Bergen/Passaic chapter of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women hosted the event, which organizers hope to hold each year.
