As a commuter to NYC, I wrote to the Ridgewood News back in 1999 about how dreadful the parking was at the train station and in the Town in general and how it could one day have a major negative impact on the Town. I'm afraid we are now there. Most recently there have been articles to suggest that the parking situation in Ridgewood has been discussed at the Town Board level on and off for over 40 years. I find that amazing that there has been talk for that long and no action. It is quite possible that we've finally solved the parking situation by virtue of the number of failed businesses. Does anyone believe that we will see a multi tiered parking garage in Ridgewood or any form of enhanced parking or will it be another 40 years of commissions, task forces, studies and then putting it on the back burner?

I stopped going to Ridgewood as often as I used to because of the parking problems. It's okay in the spring and summer because you can walk, but if it's raining or cold who wants to park that far from the store or restaurant you are going to.
