Bogota cop awaiting reinstatement

The attorney representing Regina Tasca, who was fired as a police officer in 2012, says Bogota is taking too long to reinstate her in accordance with a court order issued two months ago. Meanwhile, an attorney representing Bogota, says the borough is moving as quickly as possible to reinstate Tasca.

Former Bogota councilman guilty of punching previous mayor

A former Bogota councilman has been found guilty of assaulting the borough’s previous mayor. Judge Roy McGeady also found Evaristo Burdiez guilty of obstruction of a governmental function when he punched Tito Jackson, who was mayor at the time, during a the closed portion of a council meeting in August 2014, said Nancy Lucianna, Jackson’s lawyer.
