The volunteers concentrated their efforts on a half-mile portion of the trail near the New York border, down a steep slope that makes it the least accessible section of the park. Saturday’s effort was the latest in a series of cleanups that began last winter to clear southern portions of the 11-mile Shore Trail along the Hudson River.
