Awards honor efforts to preserve Bergen County history

About 150 people packed into the First Reformed Church of Hackensack on Thursday to honor 14 recipients for works ranging from a Girl Scout troop’s video on a Revolutionary War hero in Allendale to the preservationists who tried in vain to save the Zabriskie Tenant House in Paramus, the home of former slaves that was demolished last year to make way for town homes.
